50 Cent Suggests Diddy Could Successfully Defend Against Sex Trafficking Charges by Securing A$AP Rocky’s Attorney
As Sean "Diddy" Combs faces mounting legal challenges, fellow hip-hop mogul 50 Cent has weighed in, offering a bold prediction: Diddy could beat the sex trafficking charges—if he manages to secure top-tier legal representation.
In a recent Instagram post, 50 Cent stated, “If Diddy can get Joe [Tacopina], he might beat this case—but he’s gonna have to pay a lot of money. There’s no time to prepare!” His remarks refer to Joe Tacopina, the high-profile attorney who recently helped A$AP Rocky secure an acquittal in a high-profile shooting case.
Reports indicate Diddy has made several attempts to bring Tacopina onto his legal team ahead of the trial, scheduled for next month. Tacopina, known for representing major names such as Donald Trump and Alex Rodriguez, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that while he has been approached, he has not yet made a decision.
“I’m going to speak to him,” Tacopina said. “I’m not saying yes or no. I’m just going to listen.”
However, Tacopina has previously expressed hesitation about taking on the case due to his longstanding ties with Roc Nation and its CEO, Desiree Perez, as well as JAY-Z. Speaking on The Breakfast Club, he explained, “Jay and Desiree Perez are like family to me, and I don’t think they see eye-to-eye with Diddy.” He also downplayed the notion of a strong personal connection between JAY-Z and Diddy, remarking, “Everyone wants a picture with P. Diddy at some point when they go to a party.”
Tacopina’s recent courtroom success with A$AP Rocky has only bolstered his already high-profile reputation. Following the verdict, Rocky and his partner Rihanna—parents to two children—joked about naming their next child after the attorney.
“They grabbed me and said, ‘Our next baby is A$AP Joe,’” Tacopina recounted. “I told them, ‘I’m gonna hold you to that.’”
As Diddy’s trial looms, the spotlight is now on whether Tacopina will join the defense—or whether Combs will need to turn elsewhere for legal firepower. With 50 Cent already stirring the conversation, the case is shaping up to be one of the year’s most closely watched legal battles in the music world.
