Dody6 Bows Out: Issues Public Apology to Kendrick Lamar Over Controversial ‘Homeless’ Diss

It’s been a wild few weeks in the world of hip-hop, and the latest twist involves up-and-comer Dody6 and none other than Kendrick Lamar.

If you missed the drama, here’s the quick rundown: Dody6—who was featured on Kendrick’s chart-topping GNX album, on the track “hey now”—had a full-blown meltdown on social media earlier this month. In a candid and chaotic post, Dody revealed he was homeless and frustrated that the high-profile feature didn’t change his situation. “Didn’t change shit,” he wrote bluntly.

Then things escalated. He sent a wild message to Adam22 from No Jumper, telling him, “Bro post I’m on meth. Idgaf. Post Dody is on meth and say K Dot is a bitch ain’t tapping in.”
Yikes.

But now, in a surprising (and frankly, refreshing) turn of events, Dody6 seems to be walking it all back.

Taking to his Instagram Story, he offered a public apology directly to Kendrick Lamar, writing:
“I WANNA PUBLICLY APOLOGIZE TO @kendricklamar for callin cuz ah bitch bcuz he is far from that & ain’t did nothing but bless me n my life.”

It’s not every day you see that level of accountability in this game.

Still, despite the heartfelt apology, it’s safe to say Dody6 probably won’t be hopping on the Grand National Tour anytime soon—which, by the way, is already making major history.

Kendrick and SZA kicked off the tour with a massive opening night in Minneapolis, pulling in over $9.1 million from more than 47,000 fans. That’s not just big—it’s record-breaking. According to Touring Data, this is now the highest-grossing hip-hop concert ever, surpassing Eminem’s 2019 show in Melbourne. It also marks the first rap concert to break the $9 million barrier.

And if the music wasn’t enough, Kendrick had something else up his sleeve.

During his set, he took what seemed to be a clever swipe at Drake, incorporating a courtroom-themed skit clearly referencing the 6 God’s recent lawsuit against Universal Music Group. When asked about February 9—the day of Kendrick’s Super Bowl performance and a key date in Drake’s amended legal filings—Kendrick coolly responded, “I don’t keep up with dates.”
Then, with a grin, he launched into “Not Like Us,” a not-so-subtle reminder of who currently has the upper hand in their ongoing feud.

So while Dody6 may not be riding the Grand National wave, he’s certainly made waves of his own. And with that public apology out in the open, we’ll see whether redemption—or a second chance—follows.
