Drake Makes History: Shatters Beatles' Record & Hits Unprecedented RIAA Milestone
In an unprecedented display of dominance, Drake has rewritten music history—twice. The rap megastar has officially surpassed The Beatles' legendary Billboard 200 record for most cumulative charting weeks, while simultaneously becoming the first artist ever to cross 500 million RIAA-certified units across albums, singles, and features.
According to Chart Data, Drake’s catalog has now spent a staggering 3,348 weeks on the Billboard 200—dethroning The Beatles’ previous record of 3,311 weeks (Taylor Swift has since also edged ahead with 3,313 weeks). This monumental achievement traces back to his 2009 breakout project, *So Far Gone*, cementing his 15-year reign as a chart titan.
But the 6 God wasn’t done. On April 8, he smashed yet another barrier by eclipsing 500 million RIAA units—extending his lead as the most-certified artist in history, a title he’s held since surpassing Eminem in 2022. His unmatched accolades include six diamond singles (the most for any rapper, Post Malone excluded), from solo smashes like "God’s Plan" and "Hotline Bling" to iconic collabs with Rihanna ("Work"), Travis Scott ("Sicko Mode"), and Future ("Life Is Good").
Drake’s commercial supremacy remains unrivaled, with a discography stacked with multi-platinum giants: Take Care and Views (both 8x platinum), Scorpion (7x platinum), Nothing Was the Same (6x platinum), and More Life (4x platinum)—plus a pipeline of hits nearing diamond status.
Even amid last year’s rap feud with Kendrick Lamar, Drake’s momentum hasn’t slowed. His latest single, "Nokia," just surged to No. 3 on the Hot 100 after its music video drop, marking his highest solo chart position since 2022’s "First Person Shooter" (his J. Cole collab that ironically ignited the Kendrick rivalry). But the throne remains contested: Kendrick and SZA’s "Luther" continues its seven-week streak at No. 1, setting the stage for a heavyweight chart battle.
With records crumbling in his wake and no signs of retreat, Drake’s legacy as this generation’s most unstoppable hitmaker is now undeniable.
