When it comes to fashion, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are known as one of the most stylish couples in the world — but it turns out their wardrobes are a bit of a shared battlefield.
During a recent episode of Vogue’s The Run-Through podcast, A$AP Rocky hilariously opened up about a recurring issue in his relationship: Rihanna constantly raiding his closet. “For me, it’s not fair that my girl could just go in my closet and take anything from it and wear it,” the Harlem rapper told hosts Leah Faye Cooper and Chioma Nnadi. “She does it to me all the time, man! Sometimes you just see her in an interview or a paparazzi photo and you’re like, ‘Wait, there goes my Miu Miu fking jacket! What the fk? I was looking for that since 2021!’”
Of course, the closet crime goes both ways. A$AP quickly admitted that he’s guilty of swiping a few pieces from Rihanna’s wardrobe, too. “That goes both ways,” he laughed. “She has pieces she [doesn’t] know that I actually stole.”
Given their shared reputation for pushing fashion boundaries — from Rihanna’s iconic maternity looks to A$AP’s bold runway-inspired ensembles — it’s hardly surprising that the couple draws from each other’s fashion arsenal. After all, this is the man who wore a kilt to the Met Gala and isn’t afraid to embrace traditionally feminine silhouettes or trends. And Rihanna? She’s long been celebrated for blurring the lines between menswear and womenswear with effortless ease.
Speaking of the Met Gala, Rocky also shared that he’s preparing to co-chair this year’s event, taking place on Monday, May 5 — but in classic laid-back fashion, he hasn’t finalized his look just yet. “I’ma be totally transparent and honest with you — I don’t even know what the hell I’m wearing yet,” he admitted. While he has a general idea, he says, “It’s not that easy” to bring everything together for such a high-pressure style moment.
Though the couple skipped the 2024 Met Gala, reportedly due to Rihanna not feeling well, A$AP Rocky has previously made a splash on the Met steps, particularly in 2021 and 2023. With him now taking on a major role in this year’s festivities — and Rihanna likely by his side — fans are eager to see what the fashion-forward pair will deliver next.
One thing’s for sure: whether it’s a red carpet moment or a spontaneous outfit swap, these two continue to prove that love and style truly go hand-in-hand.
