Travis Scott Gets Taken Down by Cody Rhodes in WrestleMania Clash
Tensions between Travis Scott and Cody Rhodes came to a head at WrestleMania 41, culminating in a dramatic confrontation during the event’s main event match.
As Rhodes battled John Cena in the headline bout, Scott made a surprise appearance, walking to the ring to his hit track “FE!N.” The rapper’s entrance marked a continuation of their ongoing feud, which began in February when Scott struck Rhodes during the Elimination Chamber event — an attack that left the WWE star with a black eye and a ruptured eardrum.
Initially, it appeared that Scott and Cena were aligning against Rhodes. However, momentum shifted when Rhodes countered and delivered his signature finishing move, the Cross Rhodes, flooring the multi-platinum rapper.
Despite taking the fall, Scott would go on to alter the outcome of the match. In a pivotal moment, he pulled the referee out of the ring just as Rhodes was poised to secure the victory. This interference gave Cena the opening to capitalize and ultimately win the match, becoming the new WWE Undisputed Champion. Cena and Scott celebrated the controversial win together in the ring.
Rhodes had previously warned Scott that retribution was coming. Speaking to Complex weeks after the Elimination Chamber incident, Rhodes said, “That’s wrestling. Beat me up, I’m gonna beat you up. I’m not angry, but I’m watching. If Travis Scott ever comes back into the WWE mix, maybe there’s a receipt waiting for him.”
He also noted he was a fan before their clash: “Prior to this, I was a Travis Scott fan. I bought those sneakers.”
WWE legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson spoke about Scott’s involvement at a post-event press conference, shedding light on the rapper’s commitment to the role.
“[Travis] wanted to get his hands bloody,” The Rock said. “I whispered to him before he walked out and told him, ‘If you’re gonna get your hands bloody, make it count.’ He really laid one on Cody. He was amped.”
Johnson added, “He genuinely loves the business. Some celebrities want to just watch or be seen, but others, like Travis, want to fully immerse themselves. That’s what we saw tonight.”
The storyline between Rhodes and Scott continues to blur the lines between music and wrestling, as WWE increasingly embraces crossover moments that ignite both fanbases.
