French Montana has long been associated with Sean “Diddy” Combs, having signed to the iconic Bad Boy Records label over a decade ago. Over the years, the two developed what seemed like a close relationship, often appearing together at parties, events, and in music circles. However, as Diddy now faces a string of serious allegations — including those involving sex trafficking — French Montana is making it clear he wants no part in the conversation.
The Bronx-born rapper was recently approached by paparazzi at LAX airport, where he was initially cheerful and engaging, talking openly about the upcoming Met Gala and his current projects. But the moment the topic shifted to the legal storm surrounding Diddy, French’s demeanor changed instantly. Without addressing the question, he simply said, “Come on, man,” and walked away from the interview.
Moments later, one of his security guards followed up behind the cameraman and politely requested, “Don’t put that last part.” However, that request came too late — the entire exchange had been livestreamed, making any attempt at damage control futile. The clip quickly began circulating online, sparking discussions about French Montana’s reluctance to speak on the matter, despite his long affiliation with Diddy.
This incident has only added to the scrutiny French Montana has faced in recent months. Last summer, he was heavily criticized for inviting Andrew Tate — a controversial internet figure who is currently awaiting trial on human trafficking charges in Romania — onstage during a performance at the Beach, Please Festival in the European country.
In a moment that shocked many fans, Tate appeared mid-set and was warmly welcomed by the crowd. French didn’t shy away from praising him either. He revealed that the two had recorded a podcast together and said onstage, “Romania loves you, my brother.” The rapper even dedicated a song to Tate, after which the influencer led the crowd in chanting “Escape the matrix,” claiming he was attempting to set a world record.
French later shared footage of the event on Instagram, proudly stating, “First rapper to do a stream with Top G and the first to bring Top G out on stage! ROMANIA WE LOVE YOU. S/O Andrew Tate + Tristan Tate.” The post has since been deleted, but not before it ignited a firestorm of backlash.
Many fans were quick to voice their disappointment, taking to social media to call out what they saw as poor judgment. “That’s so embarrassing lol,” one user commented. Another wrote, “DISGUSTING [skull emojis] SUCH A LOW MOVE bringing him on stage.” A third added, “I swear these rappers love to support the worst this world has to offer.”
Between his abrupt exit when asked about Diddy and the fallout from his association with Andrew Tate, French Montana finds himself navigating increasingly choppy waters in the court of public opinion. Whether his silence is a calculated move to avoid controversy, or a genuine refusal to be dragged into others’ legal troubles, remains unclear — but one thing is certain: fans and critics alike are paying attention.
